Mr. Falatko has more than 15 years of experience in environmental engineering focusing on the design, construction, and operation of soil and groundwater remediation systems and industrial water and wastewater treatment systems. His experience ranges from initial project evaluations to final detailed process and mechanical designs, and the subsequent construction, start-up and operation of the systems. Mr. Falatko specializes in integrating site-specific conditions with innovative remedial designs. He has designed in-situ and ex-situ soil and groundwater treatment systems using physical, chemical and biological processes for the remediation of petroleum hydrocarbons, halogenated solvents and heavy metals.
He has completed remedial actions at a variety of industrial facilities under state and federal directives, such as RCRA and CERCLA. His remedial designs have involved a wide variety of technologies, including groundwater extraction and treatment, separate phase product recovery, vacuum enhanced recovery, ex-situ biological soil treatment, fixed-film bioreactors, biosparpging and bioventing, treatment of airborne chemical weapons agents, air sparging, soil vapor extraction, natural attenuation processes, in-situ metals precipitation, and in-situ reductive dehalogenation.
Mr. Falatko has also designed industrial water and wastewater treatment systems upgrades for the automotive, semiconductor, textile and metal plating industries. These systems have involved water treatment, fixed-film wastewater treatment, enhanced metals removal systems, and sludge handling and disposal methods. He has designed large capacity groundwater production wells, industrial piping systems, and double containment piping with leak detection systems for industrial wastewater. He has performed assessments for well field capacities and designed water treatment system upgrades for industrial facilities. He has conducted environmental audits for generating facilities and performed economic analysis associated with the property transfer of these facilities. He has designed the instrumentation and control systems associated with these designs, and has utilized wireless telemetry systems for remote operation with digital and graphical user interface controls.
